Ray Stilwell has concentrated his law practice in bankruptcy law, collections and general litigation since his admission to the New York Bar in 1985. Ray took over primary responsibility for managing the bankruptcy practice of a small Rochester law firm in 1986, and since then he has represented a wide variety of businesses as debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings throughout New York State under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. He has developed a successful program in which lenders and other creditors are able to take advantage of their rights under the Bankruptcy Code. Ray has represented business and consumer debtors and bankruptcy trustees under Chapter 7, creditors’ committees in cases under Chapter 11, and petitioning creditors in involuntary bankruptcy cases.
Ray has extensive litigation experience in New York state and federal courts. He has represented lenders in all stages of mortgage foreclosure proceedings and has handled and defended a variety of business litigation matters at virtually all trial and appellate levels.
